Diploma of Spiritual Healing
Healing is the art of bringing back to wholeness and rediscovering ourselves
in our true magnificence. Each of us has the innate capacity to heal ourselves
while many of us are called to aid the healing of others also.
While healing may take many forms The Brenda Davies International
School of Healing and Spiritual Development teaches classical Spiritual
Healing,
utilizing primarily the framework of the energy system and in particular
the chakras, while encouraging the development and refinement of
individual innate spiritual gifts.
Our mission is to:
- Promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being by healing
and self awareness.
- Mentor students while they realise their healing abilities.
- Empower every indiviual to enjoy life and achieve their potential.
- Honour the right of every person to confidentiality and respect.
- Encourage individuality and intuitive style while adhering to the
basic tenets of healing.
- Accelerate our awareness of unity consciousness.
- Further the goal of spirituality rather than any particular religious
belief or dogma.
- Encourage self-healing in our students so that each of us can be
a clear channel for healing energy.
Students will be required to have at least some knowledge about working
with subtle energy. Though many applicants will already work in some
related healing profession, attendance at *Induction Day (Energy Medicine
Day in Germany) and Master Class Programme or pre-school *Chakra Healing
Group run by Registered Tutors of the School is essential for acceptance
as a Student.
Each student is responsible for his or her own professional liability
insurance and it is highly recommended that you explore this before
considering working with clients.
The two year course for the Diploma in Spiritual Healing consists
of eight modules designed to train you to develop and a safe and professional
spiritual healer. Modules are usually taught four times a year, though
in some cases because of the distance Dr Davies has to travel, modules
are taught two at a time at approximately six monthly intervals. While
healing techniques are taught throughout the course, emphasis in the
first year in particular will be on personal spiritual development,
since our own inner work is essential to prepare us to be adequate
channels for healing energy. Each module is residential since this
allows us not only flexibility of time, but also a deeper group process.
There will be about 25 hours of teaching and practical work in each
module. Each pulse of students forms a coherent, mutually supportive
group which
progresses
together, has the commitment to work together at least at monthly intervals
between modules and allows for good peer feedback, especially during
facilitated groups, promoting a trusting attitude and healthy development.
The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Between modules
there will be the opportunity for e-mail or occasionally telephone
contact with Dr Davies if necessary.
Every student will have the opportunity of some brief individual work
with Dr Davies, though this is not an offer of therapy and ideally
students will simultaneously have personal therapy as no doubt the
work we do will unearth personal issues.
Spiritual practice such as meditation, guided visualisation etc will
be highly beneficial as you continue your development. Working through
The Rainbow Journey (Hodder & Stoughton, 1998) or the American
version, The 7 Healing Chakras (Ulysses Press 2000) using the 7
Healing Chakras Workbook (Ulysses Press 2004), Journey of
the Soul (Hodder
Mobius 2002) Affairs of the Heart (Hodder & Stoughton, or the American
version, Unlocking the Heart Chakra (Ulysses Press) is a prerequisite
for training and you may find yourself revisiting these during the
course. See the “Books & Audio” page for further information.
